Personal Creative Projects

Personal creative photo projects hold a special place in our photographic journey, serving as a vital outlet for our own artistic exploration and expression.
These projects allow us to experiment freely with ideas, styles, and techniques beyond the constraints of client assignments, fostering growth and innovation.

Engaging in personal work rejuvenates our creative energy, inspiring fresh perspectives that often feed back into our professional photography.
Moreover, it provides a fulfilling opportunity to capture unique stories and emotions that resonate deeply with our artistic vision, making the process as rewarding as the final images themselves. This balance between commissioned work and personal projects ensures our photography remains vibrant, authentic, and continuously evolving.

Ongoing photographic project

Our current personal project explores the profound connections people share with Korea —the country, its culture, and its people. This ongoing investigation into the diverse and powerful emotional ties forms the heart of a work temporarily titled “Korean Face(t)s”.

Artistic Interpretation
As we gather testimonials and uncover both visible and unseen evidence of these deep bonds, a richer and more nuanced truth will gradually emerge…

Much like a diamond’s brilliance comes from its many facets, our approach begins with capturing portraits of a wide range of individuals. We then aim to delve deeper into the stories of these “witnesses,” visually interpreting the complex layers of affinity, love, and belonging that define the Korean experience.

The final artwork will be a mosaic —a vibrant composition assembled from individual portraits, each capturing a unique facet of human connection and emotion.

The Journey and the Destination
This creative approach embodies our belief that true understanding emerges from the sum of many perspectives. By meticulously collecting and arranging these portraits, we aim to create a powerful visual tapestry that reflects the collective experience of belonging, identity, and love.

The mosaic approach symbolises the beauty of diversity and the strength found in unity. Each face contributes a vital piece to the larger story, revealing that our shared humanity is built from countless distinct yet interconnected moments.

Through this intricate assembly, the artwork invites viewers to explore the complexity and richness of individual stories woven into a collective identity—an artistic testament to the profound bonds that unite us.

Carefully Considered Creative Process
The creative process for this project proceeded thoughtfully and methodically. We searched for and invited a diverse range of candidates who embodied the deep emotional bonds with Korea. More than 150 individuals signed up to participate in this artistic project. Our objective was to capture the authentic personality and essence of each candidate through carefully planned photo shoots.

We required candidates to be at least 18 years old or have parental consent, and to meet specific criteria related to their connection with Korea. Between April 2024 and July 2025, we organised multiple photo sessions across Belgium, successfully completing shoots in various locations like Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, La Louvière, with the intention to later extend to neighbouring countries depending on local interest and the initiative’s success.

Having completed these numerous photo shoots, we curated the individual portraits into a rich collection of photographs that best capture the multifaceted emotional bonds with Korea. Now the art project awaits its final step: assembling the carefully curated portraits into a mosaic, symbolising the unity through diversity and reflecting the complex emotional ties explored in the project. Once the mosaic will be ready, it will be publicly unveiled in a forthcoming photo exhibition. This public reveal will not only showcase the collective narrative but also invite viewers to engage deeply with the individual stories that compose the whole, bringing the exploration of belonging and identity to life in a compelling visual experience.

Photography exhibition planned for 2026.
